Let’s say you want to “network,” and DM/email employees at companies you want to work for. You want to ask for a 15-minute call.
Great idea!
But, before you make that ask, prove that you’ve spent 15 minute learning about this person. With a customized message, signal that you are interested in THEM. Don’t send a generic message!
You can make a comment about their LinkedIn profile, share about something you saw on their website, or express curiosity about motivated them to go into their field of choice.
Bottom line: be a real person.
