Mindset for Success

Celebrate!
What are 3 tiny things that have gone well for you of late? Celebrate the small wins along the way! This will give your psyche encouragement to keep going.

It’s easy to be negative. It takes thoughtfulness to choose to see the positive and have gratitude. And that’s what pays off.

Quote of the Week

“If it is your lot to sweep streets, then sweep streets like Michelangelo painted…..sweep streets as though all the hosts of heaven were watching you and they say, ‘there lived the greatest street sweeper the world has ever seen.'”

— Martin Luther King Jr.

Your spirit of Christmas present.

Merry Christmas!

We hope you have a great time spending the holidays with friends and family.

If you’re like most people, you go well out of your way to make sure you and your entire home embody that spirit of light, warmth, peace, and generosity that characterizes this most wonderful time of the year.

Lots lights.
Lots of food.
Lots of decorations.
And definitely lots and lots of presents.

And right you are to do so.

Because if you’re any older than twelve, you likely understand that Christmas is not just about receiving; getting gifts and consuming food; but about giving and sharing.

And so adopting that spirit of generosity is a key part of enjoying Christmas.

Here’s the thing though: you don’t have to abandon this spirit as soon as Christmas is officially over. You can have a spirit of generosity all year round!

Yes, even in the workplace.

There are no laws against helping out your boss or coworker, by picking up some of their workload without being asked.

There are no laws against doing some free work (like content creation) for a company you admire and sending it to them as a gift – especially not if you might want to work there at some point.

And it only takes a few minutes to send a little handwritten thank-you note to a colleague who helped you out over the past year. This is the perfect time of year to do that, by the way.

You can be generous when everyone else is guarded.
You can be warm when everyone else is cold and calculated.
You can be thoughtful, when everyone else is being robotic.

Why not?
You’ll quickly find that it’s contagious.

At the end of the day, people want to work with people they enjoy working with. And embodying a spirit of generosity will go a long way towards achieving that, no matter where you go in life.

So, once again, merry Christmas.

And may your good will towards men last all year round.
