5 Ways to Use Your Resume Wisely

1. Delete it

2. Start a bonfire with it

3. Put it through the shredder

4. Use it to play trash-can basketball with your kid

5. Make a pitch video to a company, and at the beginning, hold it up to the camera and say, "hey I don't need this, I made something better." Then sell yourself on why you love that company and how you are ready to crush it.

A Metaphor for Launching your Career

Most people are on a train. That train is the Kindergarten-To-College train of checking boxes, to supposedly prepare for a first job.

Except all the jobs are in outer space! The train can't take you there.

You need to LAUNCH. This takes energy and creative gumption. Prove your skills via portfolio projects and initiative.

Once you get the first job, it's way easier to bounce around in career orbit.

Take in the full metaphor in this 9 minute video.
