Don’t Be Professional

For some reason everyone thinks they need to “be professional” when it comes to anything job related.

But what does that even mean?

Sure, show up and perform at a high level, like a pro. Don’t be sloppy or impolite.

But when it comes to how you interact with people, stop being a false persona. Be real.

Admit your mistakes.
Be funny.
Speak in a tone of voice that’s true to you.
When you reach out to an employee, establish rapport like a genuine human.
Express how much you love a company, from your heart.

Stop buttoning up your suit and tie and pretending.

Humanize your job hunt.
