Invest Your Free Time

The weekend is coming up.

If you want a better future professionally, then maybe skip going out to brunch, and go heads down and get some deep work done.

Yeah, R & R are important. Don’t burn yourself out.

But as Albert Einstein wrote, “we act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life. All that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about.”

So maybe, invest your free time now, so you can make your weekdays full of meaning, purpose, and aliveness.

5 Secrets to a Successful Job Search

Yeah, we sort of have some secret sauces to job hunting – here are five of those secrets (3 minute post).

1) Be interested
“If you want to be interesting, be interested.”

2) Zero in on a small number of companies
“Quality, not quantity.”

3) Don’t click ‘apply’
“85% of hires are outside the applicant pool.”

4) Years experience don’t matter
“What companies really want is someone who will create more than value than they cost.”

5) Send a pitch video (or 2)
“Signal your boldness, show your smile, and don’t wait for permission.”
