Hercules Hercules

You think you’re not qualified for that job?

Why, because you’re not flawless?

Look, everyone is flawed. Hercules, son of Zeus, was rumored to have had over 50 children. To each his own… but….maybe the dude wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, even if he was the strongest.

Point is, you have strengths and weaknesses like everyone else. Just go for what you want. You’re good enough.

Your Skills are Transferable. Just Get Good!

Have you worked at Macy’s selling suits and shoes? That’s valuable to any company.

You crushed it at Subway, knowing all the regulars by name? Companies love customer service as a soft skill.

Were you captain of the cheerleading team, leading your squad to a championship? That’s super valuable, too.

What matters is getting good at something. Then applying that in any direction,

From Isaac, here’s a quick post, “Your Skills Are More Transferable Than You Think.”

“A great salesperson is more likely to succeed at project management than someone who studied project management work but never did any. A Chick-fil-A team member has more transferrable skills to a job at a startup than someone who’s only read books about startups.

Don’t worry about getting pigeonholed. Get good at something. What you learn is how to get good. That’s transferable to everything else.”
