Watch Your Tone in Your Emails

We try to keep it real at the DJH.

As in, the way we write is how we would speak to you in real life, as a friend on a barstool. We try to avoid pretense. Hopefully, you feel more connected to us because of it.

Be aware of this when you reach out to companies. What’s the tone of your emails?

Instead of, “Dear Mr. Jones, respectfully, would you please view my attached resume?”

How about, “Hey Tom! I really love everything about Acme, Inc. So, I made you this quick video about why I’d be a great fit for the Customer Support role.”

You can still be professional without having a stick up your butt.

Are You In Customer Service?

Let’s say you have a little customer service experience at a grocery store, a yoga studio, Chick-fll-A, or even selling lemonade when you were 7.

You can translate that into a kick-ass job at a fast-growing startup company!

When you shoot a video pitch, tell stories proving your people skills of listening, empathy, and problem solving.

Quote of the Day

“Life is an echo. What you send out comes back. What you sow, you reap. What you give, you get. What you see in others, exists in you.”
